May Ipsy Glam Bag

May's Ipsy Glam Bag is here, and oh my goodness, can you see how cute the actual bag is? It's like a little envelope with all sorts of cool buildings of the world on it. Adorable! The contents inside are pretty nifty, too - and cost me just $10! If you don't know, you can get Ipsy at your door for just $10/month and then you can have cute travel bags and fun sample and deluxe sizes beauty goodies all for yourself, too! Click here for more info.

Here's what came in May's glam bag....

  • Hanalei Lip Treatment - This is a balm meant to hydrate and protect the lips. It's formulated with kukui nut from Hawaii. I think the packaging looks super sleek and I'm excited to try this out!
  • Smashbox X-Rated Mascara - This mascara claims to isolate and magnify each lash with its fiber-loaded formula, all while being clump, smudge and flake-proof.
  • SLmissglam  W07 Small Contour Brush - This brush brand is the creation of SLMissGlam, a YouTuber turned brush creator. This brush is really soft and would work well to contour around the nose or very defined cheek bone area, or even as a highlight applicator.
  • Aurora Gel Effect Nail Polish in Old School Pink - Helloooo neon summer nails! This nail polish is meant to give you the shiny, eye-popping gel look without the use of a UV light.
  • Formula 10.0.6 Pores Be Pure Skin-Clarifying Mud Mask - This mask is made with berry boosters (whatever berry boosters are...) and strawberry and rosemary to rid the skin of impurities. Don't be fooled, the ingredients aren't quite as natural as you might believe from that description.

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know in the comments!

May Ipsy Glam Bag

First things first - how cute is this month's Ipsy bag?! TOO CUTE. I feel like the actual Ipsy bags have gotten cuter and cuter this year. Anyway, if you're not familiar with Ipsy, its a beauty subscription service that costs just $10/month and will get you awesome beauty goodies straight to your mailbox! Click here to sign up for Ipsy today! (affiliate link)

Here's what came in May's Glam Bag....

  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil in Ozone - This is a clear lip liner that is meant to prime the lips and latch on to any color you apply over it. I have yet to put it to the test but I'm looking forward to giving it a go.
  • Luxie Beauty Tapered Blending Eye Brush 205 - I've never heard of this brand, but I've already tried out this brush and it is wonderful. It retails for $12 on the Luxie Beauty website, so this product alone costs more than the Ipsy bag! Good value indeed.
  • Bare Republic Naturals SPF 30 Mineral Face Sunscreen Lotion - Another brand I've never heard of. This sunscreen is lightly tinted, has no chemical additives, synthetic fragrances or parabens.
  • NUXE Reve de Miel Facial Cleansing and Makeup Removing Gel - The Reve de Miel lip balm has a cult following, but this product is totally new to me. This cleanser is soap free and soothing with sunflower and honey.
  • BellaPierre Cosmetics Waterproof Mineral Gel Eyeliner Pencil - This stuff is serious business. I swatched it on my hand and it stayed put all day and all night, and even through a shower. A hair washing shower, no less!!! I don't typically like pencil liners for my upper eyelid, but I used this and I actually really love it. Make sure you have a good waterproof eye makeup remover to get this stuff off!

Overall, I thought this Ipsy Glam Bag had excellent value and great products - all of which I'm excited to try out! Are you a subscriber? Let me know what you got in this month's bag!

Ipsy Glam Bag | February 2015

I apologize that this post is so late, but unfortunately, the blush you see above came cracked and I had to wait for the replacement to arrive. Then I was on vacation, and well... yeah, this post is late.

If you've never heard of Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription service that delivers customized beauty products to your door in a fun keepsake bag monthly, for just $10/month. Click here to sign up.

Here's what came in February's bag:

Demeter Perfume in First Love - I kind of think all of these Demeter scents smell similar, this one being no exception. First Love is a very floral scent, characterized by jasmine, lemon zest, honeysuckle, water lotus and white rose. It's very heavy on the honeysuckle, and it reminds me a lot of this perfume.

City Color Cosmetics Creamy Lip Stain in Flirtini - At first I wasn't so sure about this color, but it's a little less pink as the bottle suggests. It's more mauve and totally wearable.

Emite Makeup Professional Eyelash Curler - To be honest, I really don't need an eyelash curler. I've got naturally curled eyelashes. This is just an OK curler from those that I've tried - nothing special.

Mitchell and Peach Fine Radiance Face Oil - I fell in love with the packaging first (I always judge a book by it's cover) and the product itself seems really nice, too. I love face oils.

ModelCo Blush Cheek Powder in Peach Bellini - Holy cow, I LOVE this stuff. The color and pigmentation are awesome. Think of Benefit Coralista but more pigmented. Love love love! And thanks to Ipsy for replacing my shattered one!

December Ipsy

Merry Ipsy, ya'll! December's Glam Bag has some goodies that I am really excited to receive! For those of you new to the concept of Ipsy - it's a monthly beauty subscription service that delivers beauty samples to your door for just $10/month! Click here for more info or to subscribe.

Here's what I received this month.

  • Nourish Organic Renewing Eye Cream - I really like this brand, and I've never tried this. Oddly, I can't find this product on their website, so I don't know if it's new or discontinued, but either way, I'm looking forward to using this.
  • Bumble and Bumble Bb Straight Blow Dry - This product helps tame frizzy hair and keep it straight and styled for up to 3 days. Rarely do I go through blow dry products, so I'm happy to get a little tester - it'll last me forever!
  • Cailyn Cosmetics Just Mineral Eye Polish in Orchid - This mineral eye shadow is made from 100% raw mineral powder. It is the most gorgeous pinky-nude shade and I can't wait to wear it!
  • NYX Cosmetics Butter Lip Balm in Red Velvet - I love these butter balms. They provide a soft wash of color and they also hydrate. I prefer these over the Maybelline Baby Lips a million times over.
  • Tarte Lights Camera Lashes mascara - I LOVE Tarte mascaras, and how convenient to have a little travel size! This mascara really does make your lashes look great. Love it!

July Ipsy 2014

It's Ipsy time, ya'll! And this month's bag is pretty good! For those of you new to the whole Ipsy bag thing, in the shortest description it's a monthly subscription service that sends beauty samples (many times with a couple full size products!) straight to your door for just $10/month! Click here to sign up.

Here's what came in this month's bag.

  • bareMinerals 5-in-1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow - This is a nude eyeshadow that can be used alone or as a base. It has a hint of shimmer to it, only visible in the light. Very pretty.
  • Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm in Unique Pink - This is a clear balm that smells minty. I really like Pixi so I'm excited to receive this!
  • Clear Clinic Laboratories Vanished Clear Spot Treatment - This is a spot treatment for acne specially formulated with menthol, glycolic acid and salicylic acid. I get spots now and then so this isn't a bad thing to have on hand.
  • Pur~lisse pur~protect essential daily moisturizer - Pur~lisse has been featured before on Ipsy. I don't have an opinion on the brand one way or the other, but this will be a nice travel moisturizer.
  • Models Own Nail Polish in Red Sea - This is a pretty glittery red polish. I'm new to the Models Own brand and am looking forward to trying it.

Do you subscriber to Ipsy? What did you get in your bag? Let me know!

May 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag

My favorite time of the month is here - Ipsy time! This month brings lots of summer-friendly products, which is perfect because the weather has finally made a warm turn here in Minnesota!

If you don't know what Ipsy is, it's a $10 monthly subscription. Every month a bag of beauty goodies shows up at your door, and if you like what you try, there are discounts or offers for each brand on the Ipsy website. Click any of the hyperlinks in this blog to sign up for yourself!

Here's what came in May's bag....
  • Hey Honey Take it Off Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask - I have never heard of this brand before, but you know I love my masks. This will be fun to try.
  • Balanced Guru No Frizz Organic Sesame & Lemongrass Balancing Oil - This is a really nice sample size, totaling 0.5 oz. It smells really nice like lemongrass and how awesome that it's organic, too!
  • Pacifica Mineral Eyeshadow duo - I've never tried any makeup from Pacifica but I'm really looking forward to trying this! The purple in this duo is really beautiful.
  • Hang Ten Classic Sport Sunscreen - Considering I got a tiny bit of sunburn from being outside this weekend, this is much needed. Perfect little travel size!
  • Pur-Lisse pur-moist hydra-balance moisturizer - I love having backup moisturizers, so this will be nice to have in my backup stash as well as for traveling.
If you haven't yet subscribed to Ipsy yet, I would highly recommend it! If you already subscribe, let me know what came in your bag!
