MEMEBOX I'm Eye Shadow Palette | Day to Night

It's no secret, I'm a big fan of MEMEBOX palettes. I've talked about them in the past (see here, and see here for just a couple examples) and raved endlessly. Well, this post will be no different - MEMEBOX is back with a new creation, the I'm Eye Shadow Palette which comes in two different color schemes: Night to Day (pinks and purples) and Day to Night (browns). I was lucky enough to be sent the Day to Night palette, and I've got the whole 411 for ya.

Top to bottom, L to R: Everyday, Picnic Day, Special Day, Moody Day, Natural Day, Mystic Day, Romantic Day, Shining Day, Classic Day, Wonderful Day
The Day to Night I'm Eyeshadow palette ($27.50) has 10 buttery soft shades in a range of browns and reddish browns. There are four matte shades and the rest are satin or glitter/shimmer shades. This palette is marketed as being buildable and blendable, and I can vouch that both of these claims are true. It's easy to create a simple or dramatic look for whatever mood you're in.

I think any range of skin tones could get use out of this palette and find combinations of colors that are sure to flatter.

Swatches below were all done over Urban Decay's primer potion.

Swatches are from palette in top to bottom, L to R order.
I'd definitely recommend checking out this palette. It's not outrageously expensive, and the buttery shadows are so nice to work with. This is a perfect combination of colors to sport for a day at the office, or a dramatic night on the town.

Purchase the Day to Night I'm Eye Shadow Palette here for $27.50.

Sinful Colors Eyeshadow

I own plenty of Sinful Colors nail polishes (although they haven't been featured on Glazed Over yet, surprisingly) but I had no idea that they made other cosmetics, too! Oddly enough, you wouldn't know it from their website either, which is dedicated solely to nail polish. Don't let that fool you - Sinful Colors also makes eyeshadows!

I was browsing a locally owned drugstore recently and came across these eyeshadows on sale for $1.99 each (normally $4 each). I snagged a couple of the prettier colors I could find because I figured for that price, who cares if they're bad! I picked up three colors (listed beginning on bottom left, and clockwise): Pandora, So-Pretty and Upscale.

As you can see, the two colors on the left, Pandora and So-Pretty, are very similar but look much more different than they appear on camera. Pandora is a champagney pink that is great for an inner corner highlight, as it has very fine glitter and catches the light very well. So-Pretty is my favorite of the bunch, and it's more of a peachy rose-gold color that is shimmery but doesn't have any glitter. It would be perfect alone or mixed with other colors. Upscale is a dark chocolate brown that features gold glitter. It isn't super pigmented, but it could be built up. I would definitely recommend wetting your brush to help avoid glitter fallout with this one.

Here you can see what these look like. I did wear Pandora and So-Pretty together this past week, and I have to say I wasn't thrilled. The shadows are quite powdery and even with a primer they didn't have much lasting power. After 8 hours there was just a hint of color left on my eyelids. That's what you get for $2, I suppose! And probably why I haven't really heard much talk of these anywhere.

I'm sure I'll still get some good use out of these, and I definitely don't regret the purchase. If you're interested in trying some out for yourself, CherryCulture.com has a sale going on and you can get these Sinful Colors eyeshadows for just $2 each.

Have any of you tried these? Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigments Review & Swatches - Buff & Tuff and Barely Brazen

Maybelline has some fun brand new products in their Color Tattoo line for fall 2013! Say hello to Maybelline Pure Pigments, something different in the drugstore cosmetics selection. Pigments have come and gone in popularity throughout the years, but these are pretty unique considering the current selection. These come in 0.05 oz pots for $5.99 each - I found mine at Target.

There are a multitude of colors, ranging from bright, pigmented purples, pinks, yellows - you name it, to gorgeous neutrals. And if you're a fan of everyday neutrals (like myself), you're in luck. And the two I'm about to show you are must-haves for the neutral fanatic.

#60 Buff & Tuff

Buff & Tuff is a really pretty bronze-brown with golden glitter that pops. This is a decently pigmented shade, however I did experience lots of fallout from the glitter, even using a primer and applying the pigment with a wet brush. I did wear it over Tease from the Naked 2 palette, so I'm not sure if it was due to that, or if the glitter was bound to fall regardless. While  this applied really fresh and bold, it did show signs of wear and fading within 4-5 hours. With enough playing around, I think the perfect balance can be found to negate the fading and fallout.

#55 Barely Brazen

Barely Brazen is my favorite of these two colors. In the pot it appears to be more peachy gold than it does in the swatches. It shows up on the skin as an ultra-shimmery peachy nude pink that really catches the light. This color makes for an excellent sheer highlight, or inner corner pop on the eyes. You have to be careful about fallout with this color as well, however the entire color is shimmery unlike Buff & Tuff which has extra glitter that is prone to major fallout. Barely Brazen is a fast favorite.

The other neutral I didn't grab is called Breaking Bronze, and from the images I've seen, it's equally as gorgeous as these two colors. I'd give these two colors a thumbs up, and recommend giving them a try if you're in the market for some awesome eye colors.

What are your thoughts? Will you give them a try? Let me know in the comments.
