Mia Mariu RestauraCel-C Thermal Microdermabrasion Set | Review + GIVEAWAY

I have never booked myself a spa day for a facial. While it sounds lovely, it's just not something I want to spend the money on - especially since I have a boatload of my own skincare items to use! When offered the chance to test out Mia Mariu's Microdermabrasion set, I happily obliged as it's a little taste of the spa in my own home.

If you're new to the world of microdermabrasions, they're basically very focused and intense exfoliation. There are a number of reasons why to get one - they sweep away dead surface cells, remove signs of sun damage and/or discoloration, and they make the skin smooth and soft. The Mia Mariu RestauraCel-C set has key ingredients of Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Beta Carotene, and AHA's.

This RestauraCel-C Thermal Microdermabrasion Set claims to reduce the appearance of enlarged pores, acne scars and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It's paraben, oil and fragrance free, which is great if you have sensitive skin... however, this product is suitable for all skin types (according to the packaging).

Use is simple - start with a fine application of the Refinisher Cream (pictured above). It's a gritty paste-like substance that serves as the exfoliation agent. Next, take a small amount of the Thermal Activator and massage it in to the skin, over top of the Refinisher Cream, careful not to massage any one area too much. You'll feel the exfoliation and slight warmth as you scrub away the dead skin cells. It's a really nice feeling and it leaves my skin feeling super soft. The next day I can see a difference in the appearance of my skin, especially in my pores which appear tighter, as well as the tone of my face.

This set can be used once or twice a week if you have normal or oily skin, but if you have more mature or sensitive skin, it's recommended you use it every other week.

I REALLY enjoy using this product and highly recommend adding something like this in to your skincare routine. If you're interested in trying this out, one lucky winner has the chance to receive a RestauraCel-C set for themselves! Sorry, this contest is open to US residents only.

GIVEAWAY: Mia Mariu Skin Nourishing Oil

I haven't talked much about skin oils on my blog, other than that one time, but this summer, oils have been one of my favorite ways to moisturize my body. Why? They're a super quick way to moisturize and I don't have to leave the shower to do it!

Mia Mariu's Skin Nourishing Oil is a more recent find of mine, but I have to say I've really been enjoying it. This oil can be used anywhere you please - face, legs, arms, wherever you need a boost of moisture and nourishment. I've been primarily using it on my legs, and it keeps them silky smooth all.day.long.

The Mia Mariu Skin Nourishing Oil is formulated with oils of Sweet Almond, Avocado, Wheat Germ, Safflower Seed, Soybean, Lemon, Orange and Grapefruit. The last two oils are probably the reason it has a faint citrus scent - nothing overwhelming, but a nice subtle smell. If you choose to use this oil on your face and neck, you'll benefit from age prevention properties; it helps to stimulate collagen which helps keep skin looking young. This is a bonus wherever you choose to use it!

My favorite way to apply this is in the shower. I save this baby for last (just to keep the oil from getting in my hair or on my clean face) and apply it all over my body. I rinse off to set it on my skin, and gently towel off. Wa-lah... perfectly soft skin!

And just because you guys are AWESOME - I'm giving away one Skin Nourishing Oil to a lucky reader! Enter below! Sorry, this contest is only open to US residents.

Mia Mariu Fragrance & Lipstick | Review + Swatches

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Mia Mariu is a new brand to me, and upon seeing their new perfume line, I had to give it a go (even though I have far too many perfumes!) I absolutely love the simple and chic pink polka-dot packaging of the Magia perfume, and the very sleek looking bottle.

From the website: "This deliciously flirtatious fragrance invigorates the senses, creates a mood and sets the scene for unforgettable fun, romance and pleasure. With a medley of juicy strawberry, mandarin, peach and pear that play sweetly atop dewy blooms of jasmine, plum, magnolia and flirty frangipani; makes the perfect playmate and ideal soul mate for smooth and sensual base notes of rich vanilla, musk, tonka bean and warm and enchanting golden amber."

If you've smelled Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture, it smells like an exact replica of that. It's a very classy feminine scent that's perfect year-round, for any occasion. It smells really nice, and it's a scent that I would definitely wear.

Magia retails for $42 for a 1.7 oz bottle. You can pick it up at www.miamariu.com and from select independent Mia Mariu retailers.

I also tested out the Mia Mariu Perfecting Finish Hydrating Stick Gloss in the shade Amore. The formula of this lippie is amazing - it combines color and gloss in one stick. It feels very hydrating on the lips. The best part is the smell, which smells really sweet, kind of like MAC lipsticks.

What I like about this color is that the color can be kept really natural or built up for a bold look. Upon first glance, Amore may look intimidating, but it actually goes on very lightly and applies more pink than it looks in the tube.

I am absolutely in love with this shade! You can pick this shade up, or any of the other 10 shades, at miamariu.com. These lipsticks cost $15 each, and are totally worth the higher price.

Overall, I am really liking these products from Mia Mariu. As I mentioned, Mia Mariu is a brand that was new to me before trying out the perfume and lipstick, but I am really curious to try more of what they offer! Let me know if you've ever tried anything from this brand in the comments below!
