Natural Skincare: Organic Rosehip Oil

If you would have told me 5 years ago that one day I would slather oils all over my face, I would have laughed you out of town and told you you're crazy! But think about it - up until lately, oil-free products were all the rage! I was gung-ho about oil-free everything, certain that my combo/oily skin needed not a drop more oil than it already had. But things have changed within the last year or so, and I have to say - I'm now a total oil lover. Whether you have oily or dry skin, it doesn't matter. Oils work for most all skin types. I am prone to being oily, but using a face oil does not make me more oily than I already am. In fact, some oils even aid in keeping you less oily!

A while ago I was browsing the aisles of TJ Maxx (one of my favorite things to do) and I came across this Organic Rosehip Oil by Rosehip Plus. I snatched this up for $9.99. You might be thinking - $9.99 for a 1 oz bottle? But believe me - this will last me a long time.

Rosehip Oil is super simple to use. After thoroughly cleansing my face, toning, and using an eye cream in the evening, I put 3-4 drops of this on my hands and massage it in to my face, using it as my nighttime moisturizer. Rosehip oil is orange, and while it looks kind of daunting to spread over your face, it won't leave it looking orange. I prefer to use this at night, but I do know many people mix it in with their moisturizer for the morning.

If you're wondering what's so special about Rosehip Oil and why I love it, there's a bunch of reasons! Rosehip Oil helps reduce the appearance of scars (and stretchmarks in other areas of the body), hydrate and soften skin, promote skin elasticity and texture, improve appearance of dry skin and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

I love using Rosehip Oil as my nighttime moisturizer. When I wake up in the morning my skin feels hydrated and refreshed. I don't have many wrinkles yet, but I like the idea of prevention with this product. I especially love that Rosehip Oil is all natural and organic, so I don't have to worry about weird chemicals being absorbed through my skin. I would highly recommend this if you want plump, healthy skin and natural wrinkle minimization.

Have you tried Rosehip Oil? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I haven't tried a rosehip oil yet but I definitely want to and this price is great! I have been using Clarins BLue Lotus oil and I really love it.
