Esqido | Gel Eyeliner Pencils

Helloooooo again my friends! It's been a while. I've taken a step back from blogging, but I'm back for a hot second to share with you an eyeliner that I've been testing. New to the Esqido world are gel eyeliner pencils, and I have to say, I've really been enjoying using them.

Available in two colors, black or brown, these pencils are gel eyeliner with the convenience of a pencil that you can sharpen. I don't know about you, but I struggle to get my eyeliner the way I want it when I'm applying gel eyeliner with a brush... (probably a personal problem! Ha!) That's what I like so much about this format.

The eyeliner itself is silky smooth and glides on very easily. It also lasts all day without transferring on my upper eyelid. I really love the brown color because it gives great color payoff but it's less intense than the black, so if I'm feeling like toning it down, I go with the brown.

Normally, these retail for $16 each, which is up there in for an eyeliner pencil, but they've got a special for their launch and you can snag them for just $12.

Here's a not so great photo of me (listening to an audiobook - hah!) sporting the actually great brown gel eyeliner. See what I mean about it being great for a toned down, but still put together look?

If super silky smooth, easy to apply, pencil eyeliners are your thing. I'd definitely recommend trying these out.

Purchase the Esqido gel eyeliner pencils on their website here.

Labiotte Wine Lip Tints | MEMEBOX

I could not be more excited to share with you some of the most fun lippies I have ever owned! Say hello to the Labiotte Wine Lip Tints, a super fun Korean product that brings a splash of fun to your every day beauty routine.

Not only are the tubes shaped like miniature wine bottles, these tints are actually formulated with a wine extract called "sepivinol" which helps moisturize and prevents that sticky feeling other lip tints can leave behind.

These would make the perfect gift for the beauty-loving wino in your life! You can purchase them from MEMEBOX (the Korean retailer powerhouse), and they retail for $15 each. MEMEBOX was nice enough to send me three colors to try, RD01 Shiraz Red, RD02 Nebbiolo Red, and RD03 Merlot Burgundy. All three colors are super gorgeous.

RD01 Shiraz Red
RD02 Nebbiolo Red
RD03 Merlot Burgundy

These lip tints are beautiful, and all are work appropriate or easily wearable for your every day look. I don't find them to be super moisturizing (I have yet to meet a lip tint that is!) but they definitely didn't actively dry my lips out the way other lip tints have. I'm able to get 3-4 hours of wear before needing to reapply. Do be careful though, as the color can easily get stuck to dry patches on your lips and look uneven. I'd highly recommend using a good lip scrub before attempting to sport one of these colors all day.

There are three other colors in the collection, all available on MEMEBOX, if you're not a fan of the colors you see here. If you're looking for long wearing, easy to wear color, I'd definitely recommend trying these lip tints out.

On Wednesdays we wear pink.... | #glossierpink

Who can resist a Mean Girls quote?! Certainly not me... love that movie. As one of Pantone's colors of the year is Rose Quartz, a baby pink. And if you haven't heard of Glossier before, you should also check out some of their great beauty products all about enhancing our natural beauty.

This look is simple and perfect for every day wear. If you don't have a certain product that I used, don't worry - look through your own makeup stash and find something close. You'll look glamorous no matter what product you use!

Face: For a smooth base, I started off by applying Tarte's Clean Slate Poreless primer on areas that have more visible pores than others (namely my nose, inner cheeks and between my eyebrows and just a tad above). I then used my beloved Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous foundation, obviously, applied with a damp beautyblender (a pink one, fittingly!). I dabbed on some Maybelline Fit Me concealer under my eyes to hide my dark circles (do you even know how many times this pregnant lady gets up to pee in the night?! ugh...) To set everything, I used the Maybelline Fit Me powder all over. On my cheeks, I used NYC Smooth Skin bronzer to contour under my cheekbones and a bit on my temples, and then popped on some BH Cosmetics Lilac blush (the perfect pink blush!) and used the included highlighter on top of my cheekbones for added radiance. It's actually a realllly nice highlighter! The BH Cosmetics blush/highlight duos are super cheap, totally check them out if you're in the market for a great new blush.

Eyes: The eyes are where the fun starts! I primed them with the Benefit Stay Don't Stray primer. I created another sticky base by using the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Oyster thinly over my lids. This is a pretty shimmering pink/purple that works great for a base. For the entire eye look, I used the Naked 3 palette, full of gorgeous pink shades. I defined my crease with the shade Limit (a warm matte brown), and then used Buzz all over my lid (a shimmery rose pink). To tone down the mega pink and add a bit of sparkle, I combined Dust and Trick and tapped that in the middle of my lid. I lined my eyes with the Covergirl Intensify Me! eyeliner pen, and finished it off with Covergirl Full Lash Bloom mascara, a recent fave. No look is complete without some eyebrows, mine are a combo of the Jordana Fabubrow in Taupe (I think!), Tarte Amazonian Clay Volumizing Brow Powder in Medium Brown, and Maybelline Clear Mascara for setting gel.

Lips: I kept the lips simple, but you could totally play it up more if you want! I used NYX Butter Lip Balm in Parfait which is a great pop of pink that doesn't look like you're trying too hard. Great for class or work.

What are your go-to pink products? I'd love to know - I'm a bit of a pinkaholic, myself! Also, if you create any look similar to this, be sure to send me your photos!

February Empties | #23

February wasn't a very exciting month of using things up, and because it was a shorter month, I feel like I don't have much now but I have a WHOLE bunch of stuff that's nearly empty. March will probably be jam packed with goodies. Here's what I used up in February and my two cents on each product.

  • Suave Visible Glow Self-Tanning Body Lotion (would repurchase) - This stuff reeks like tanning lotion, but it gives a really nice color and it builds fast. It's also ridiculously cheap. I didn't quite finish this bottle, it expired before self-tanning season, but I'll definitely get some more for summer.
  • glonaturals essentials SPF 30 sunscreen (would repurchase) - This is a Vitacost house brand (Vitacost.com is the best website ever with all sorts of healthy and natural products at a better price than in-store). I like this lotion because it isn't super sticky and it kept me from burning.
  • Honest Company SPF 30 Sunscreen (would not repurchase) - This stuff is mega greasy. You will look oiled from head to toe. It's fine for a beach day, but it's not something you want to be covered in if you're just headed out to a ball game or something.
  • Davines LOVE Conditioner (would repurchase) - This smelled nice and made my hair feel soft. I do know it's kind of a pricey product, but if I saw it for a good price, I'd snatch it up in a full size.
  • Equate Latex-Free Applicator Wedges (would repurchase) - Wedges are still my go-to way to put on foundation. I think they help keep acne at bay because they're one time use only. I'll always have a bag of these in my stash.
  • Ken Paves Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner (would repurchase) - These smelled really good, kind of herbal and reminiscent of certain Aveda products. They made my hair so soft and shiny. I'd definitely pick up a full size of these.
  • Clear Eyes Maximum Redness Relief eye drops (would repurchase) - This spilled all over the bottom of my purse, sadly, but they were good while they lasted. I'm prone to red eyes, so I always keep a bottle of these on hand.
  • Milani Brow Shaping Gel (would repurchase) - This is probably one of my top 3 favorite brow gels. I get it on Amazon for under $10 and it lasts me a solid few months and keeps my eyebrows from being wonky.
  • Dr. Brandt Pores No More pore refiner (would not repurchase) - I've been trying to make my way through the tons of mini primer samples I have, and I started with this one. It does a good job of making your skin look flawless, but I just don't *need* to have it on hand so I wouldn't buy it if I saw it.
  • Sensodyne Extra Whitening Toothpaste (would repurchase) - I've got a million of these little travel sizes. I like this toothpaste, and I'd purchase it in a full size.
  • Up & Up Eye Makeup Remover (would repurchase) - This stuff works awesome to get tricky waterproof eye makeup off easily. It's cheaper than name brands but works exactly the same.
  • Weleda Oat Replenishing Treatment (would repurchase) - This smelled amazing, very herbal and sort of Aveda-like. It's super thick, like spreading lotion in to your hair, but it leaves hair soft and conditioned. A nice option for a more natural deep conditioner.
  • Kiss My Face Triple Action Toothpaste (would not repurchase) - I wasn't a big fan of this toothpaste. It didn't foam up well and it never left my mouth feeling particularly clean.
  • Bella Organics Iced Lemonade deodorant creme (would repurchase) - I did a review on Bella Organics deodorants back in the day, and I ended up buying a 3 pack of the full sizes when they were on Zulily this past summer. I like these natural deodorants a lot. Read the full review for more info.
  • Sephora Organic Cotton facial pads (would not repurchase) - These are overpriced and are far too flimsy. I didn't enjoy using these up and I won't buy them again.
  • Q-Tips Precision Tips (would repurchase) - I loooove these Q-tips. The ends are finer so you can easily remove any messed up eyeliner (what I use them for) or  nail polish. They work great.
  • Skinfix Ultra Rich Body Butter (would not repurchase) - I used this on my hands at night before bed. I had realllly dry hands through much of this winter and even this stuff couldn't really save them. It would work if you need medium-intense hydration, but it won't give you mega hydration.
  • Lush Let the Good Times Roll cleanser (would repurchase) - This cleanser for face or body, I used it for face, smells like a cookie and has nice natural grit to exfoliate the skin. My husband wasn't a fan, but I definitely am.
  • Flowerbomb perfume (would repurchase) - I have a full size of this but I used this little mini up. This is the perfume I wore on my wedding day, so it has all sorts of good nostalgia tied to it.
  • Marchesa Parfum Dextase (would not repurchase) - This was wayyyy to much for me. It's strong on the hydrangea/floral notes and just isn't my style.
  • Thierry Mugler Alien Perfume (would repurchase) - I love this scent so much. It's warm and inviting and really good for the colder months. I got a rollerball size for Christmas so I don't have to keep hoarding these mini samples anymore.

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know!

December Ipsy Glam Bag

Sing it with me.... "It's the most wonderful time... of the month!" Ipsy time! My glam bags have been coming at the VERY end of the month for the last couple months. Anyone else getting theirs late, too?

Anyway! If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a $10/month beauty subscription box. You'll receive deluxe sized samples and often times, one or two full size products, too! If you're interested in signing up, click here

Let's not waste any more time. Here's what came in my December Ipsy Glam Bag...

  • Marc Anthony Coconut Oil & Shea Butter Deep Conditioning Treatment: This is a weekly treatment for your hair. It's aimed at you ladies with super dry hair that needs an added boost of moisture.
  • Pacifica Power of Love Natural Lipstick in Nudie Red: This matte lipstick is nearly a my lips but better shade. It's made with coconut oil, shea butter and vitamin E. It's vegan and cruelty-free!
  • Peony Cosmetics Shadow Trio: I'm pretty sure every shadow trio I get from Ipsy has these same three colors. (annoying) ANYWAY... these shadows are created with kaolin clay, which absorbs excess oil. They're paraben free and claim to last up to 8 hours.
  • Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eyeshadow Primer: This primer will help your eye shadow glide on smoother, last longer and stay on crease-free. You only need to use a pea sized amount.
  • RickyCare by Ricky's NYC Classic 3D Blender: This is a knock off of the beauty blender. It's latex free and can be used wet or dry to apply foundation. I tested it, and it's not nearly as good as the Beauty Blender, IMO.

What did you get in your ipsy bag? Let me know!

Proganix Volume Hair Care | Soy Protein + (Caffeine)

I recently got the most darling package in the mail from Proganix - it seriously made my day! In gorgeous packaging I received their new Volume Amplifying and Body Building line, in addition to a darling snowflake ornament and a STUNNING necklace that I posted on my instagram (if you're not following me - what are you waiting for?)

I really enjoy using Proganix hair care products, and I had never tried the volume line before, so needless to say I was actually looking forward to my next hair wash!

Both the shampoo and conditioner ($9.99 each for 8.5 oz) smell really nice, sort of floral, sort of hard to explain (I'm horrible at explaining scents - sorry!). They're made with caffeine and volumizing soy protein to give your hair a lift. God knows, I can always use some lift in my ever-flat hair. Added bonus: Proganix does not test on animals so you can feel good about your voluminous shiny locks!

Also sent to me was the Root Boost Finish + Body Builder ($11.99 for 5.1 oz) and the Amplify Gel ($11.99 for 4 oz). The body building spray is to be used on damp hair, concentrating the spray on the roots. It works best to blow dry your hair after applying for extra oomph.

Before blow drying, you can add in some amplify gel all over damp hair for even more volume! You can also skip the blow dry and let your hair air dry after applying the gel.

Excuse the horrible cell phone quality photo, but here's how my hair looked after using the shampoo and conditioner, the amplify gel and the finish spray and a good blow dry session. Va-va-volume! Admittedly my hair did fall flat within an hour or so, but I seemed to have more pep in my roots than normal all day long.

All in all, I really like this line! I think it helped amp up my roots and even if it doesn't keep my hair lifted all day, my hair still smelled good and felt soft and that's really all I can ask for when I have hair determined to sit flat on my head.

I believe this Proganix Volume line is sold exclusively at Ulta (anyone seen it elsewhere?) - it's affordable and works quite nicely! I'd recommend it.

Have you tried Proganix? What's your favorite line? Let me know!

I feel half bad making these posts, because by the time this goes live, these Target beauty boxes have been long sold out. However, I want you all to be aware of what a steal these boxes are - and lucky for you, new boxes come out many times a year. Target Beauty Box | Fall 2015

Target Beauty Boxes go QUICK - I mean, really fast. They're $10 and filled with sample and full sized products, all of which can be found at Target. Unfortunately, this box I'm showing you today is already sold out, but I wanted to show you what came in it so you can see the value (and wait anxiously for the winter box to arrive!). I don't always pick these up, but this time there was enough products I wanted to try in this box that I decided to place my order. Here's what came in the fall 2015 box:

  • Acure Repairing Shampoo + Conditioner: A more natural cleaning and conditioning duo, formulated with moroccan argan stem cell + argan oil to soften hair, repair damage and strengthen.
  • Covergirl Intensify me! Liquid Liner: I did a full review of this eyeliner here. I've come to like it quite a bit because it's very black and dries matte (I said semi-shiny in my previous review, so IDK if my pen's formula changed or what). Takes some practice to handle the shape of the tip, but once you master it, you'll love it.
  • Olly Undeniable Beauty Vitamin Gummies: Comprised of biotin, vitamins C, E and Borage Oil work to make your hair, skin and nails the extra healthy and radiant.
  • Goody SlideProof Elastics: One can never have too many hair bands, amirite ladies? These have a little grippy side to keep them in place. I haven't tried them yet, so I don't know if that's a good thing or a rip your hair out of your head kind of thing.
  • SW Basics Exfoliant: I've wanted to try this brand for ages now, so even though this sample is tiny, it was one of the reasons I bought this box. This exfoliant is made without synthetic chemicals, plastic microbeads, alcohol, or fragrance. It's USDA organic certified and made with only three ingredients. Love!
  • Skinfix Ultra Rich Body Butter: This body butter is free of fragrance, soy, gluten, parabens and phthalates. Meant for ultra dry skin, this aims to soothe and heal rough patches all day long. Especially good for those suffering from eczema.
  • Hello Mojito Mint Flouride Toothpaste: This toothpaste is vegan and never tested on animals. Plus, it has a fun flavor -- mojito mint!
  • Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede lipstick in High Heels: A long lasting lipstick in a peachy pink shade. Not my favorite color, so not sure I'll be keeping this.
  • ROC Deep Wrinkle Night Cream: It's a simple as it sounds, a wrinkle reducing night cream. This is a $20 cream, which makes this box well worth it!

Christie Brinkley Skincare | CLOSE UP Instant Wrinkle Reducer & Treatment

Did any of you know Christie Brinkley has a new (adorably packaged) skincare line? Yeah me either, until I was contacted to try out their Close Up Instant Wrinkle Reducer and Treatment. Seems promotion for her line has been rather hush, I've seen it nowhere! However, if you've ever seen what Christie Brinkley looks like, you'd believe she knows a thing or two about anti-aging skincare. The woman looks 25, and she's in her 60s!

This Close Up treatment aims to firm and smooth the appearance of crows feet, fine lines and wrinkles. It can be used anywhere you need a boost of youth - under the eyes, on the forehead, around the mouth, etc.

This treatment is virtually odorless, glides on easily and is weightless on the skin. The ingredients are far from natural, as I tend to prefer, but as I was sent this product, I don't mind giving it a go. It sits really well under makeup, and didn't break me out at all.

You don't need much when applying this to your face. I primarily used this under my eyes (as it's said to reduce puffiness and underye lines) and on my forehead where I have some noticeable wrinkles (Damnit, skin. I'm only in my 20s....). This stuff provides a subtle blur, making any lines or imperfections a little less noticeable. The formula also has full spectrum UVA/UVB and infra-red protection, so it'll provide protection from the sun and help prevent any wrinkles sun exposure can cause.

While this product is nice, and does provide instant blurring  results, it is way too pricey for me to ever purchase it again. For just 0.33 oz, you pay $79.95! Ouch. If that number doesn't phase you, you can purchase this product online here

Have you heard of or tried the Christie Brinkley skincare line? Let me know.

Ipsy Glam Bag | October 2015

This month's Ipsy Glam Bag is a hit for me! There's a product I've always wanted (the highlight), and multiple brands that I love to try (Nourish Organic, Tarte). Ipsy bags come once a month for just $10/month and rarely am I disappointed in the selection of samples (and often, full sized products). Every month the goodies come in a cute keepsake bag, perfect to use while travelling. To get your own Ipsy bag, sign up here

This month, I received:

  • Nourish Organic Pure Hydrating Argan Face Serum: Designed to hydrate and smooth the skin, while improving tone. Formulated with Apricot Kernel Oil, Moroccan Argan Oil, and Rosehip Oil. I really like the Nourish Organic brand, and I look forward to trying this sample.
  • Coastal Scents Xpress Line Cosmetic Pencil: This eyeliner pencil is black, and claims to have long lasting wear and a pack of pigmentation. I'm not super in to eyeliner pencils, and this pencil wasn't creamy enough for my taste.
  • Ayres Pampas Sunrise Hand Cream: This hand cream is made with plant emolliants, shea butter and herbal extracts to moisturize the skin. The smell is comprised of lemongrass, mandarin, bergamot, patchouli and spearmint.
  • Tarte Deluxe LipSurgence Skintuitive Lipgloss in Energy: Crafted to smooth fine lines and hydrate the lips, it also creates a personalized shade of pink on the lips. It's not sticky at all, which I like in a lipgloss. Color is very light.
  • theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer: A honey-hued highlight that adds a burst of luminescence to the face. Can be used as an eye shadow or highlight. Love this shade - it's gorgeous and would work for any skin tone!

What did you get in your Ipsy bag? Let me know!

Michael Todd | Intensive Cream Lip Treatment

It's no secret - ya'll know I'm a big Michael Todd fan. (Didn't know? See what I mean here and here) Their all natural products agree with my skin and have been long standing favorites of mine. I know there's a lot of YouTube + beauty blog hype about Michael Todd, but I can promise you it's all legit. Full disclosure: Michael Todd sends me a lot of products to try, but nearly all of what they've sent me, I've also bought myself (even before it was sent to me).

Anyway, today I'm talking about the Michael Todd Intensive Cream Lip Treatment, a product totally new to me. The main goal of this lippie? To ward off signs of anti-aging on your lips. Seems kind of crazy, right? But hey, who wants wrinkly, indented lips that don't hold lipstick?! Not me.

The ingredients in the product are good, and all vegan! The key ingredients are what's worth looking at more extensively. Soluble collagen: a protein naturally found in the skin, plumps and smooths the appearance of fine lines in the skin. Hyaluronic Acid: Naturally occurring molecule, attracts water to the skin's surface to plump with the body's own moisture. Actimp: peptide blend extracted from the White Lupine Flower, restores elasticity and firmness, proven to increase collagen production by 95% in 10 days. Organic Aloe Vera Leaf Juice: Soothes, heals, and has anti-inflammatory properties.

This is a very slippery, thin lip cream that smells citrusy and feels wet on the lips. It's not intensely hydrating and doesn't last too long on my lips. For that reason, I like to put it on when I'm getting ready in the morning just for something slippery on my lips.

I use this, obviously, for preventative measures, as I don't have super wrinkled lips just yet. If you do have lined, aged lips, take a look at the before/after pictures on the Michael Todd website, and you'll have this thing in your cart in no time.

Is this product essential in your skincare routine? No. Is it the best lippie I've ever used? No. Is it something I'll repurchase? Probably not. But it IS something targeted at a certain crowd with a specific skincare need - and if you fit that target, this is right up your alley. Natural, vegan anti-aging skincare that works is hard to come by, but Michael Todd knows how to make a quality product that fits the bill.

The Michael Todd Intensive Cream Lip Treatment ($48 for 0.5 oz) can be purchased online at michaeltoddusa.com.

Walmart Beauty Box | Fall 2015

The Fall Walmart Beauty Box finally arrived in my mailbox last week, and I have to say, it's a pretty sweet value for just $5! If you've never seen this subscription, it costs just $5 per box, and it's shipped out once a season (4 boxes per year). It's not the most amazing beauty subscription service I've ever tried, but it does give you a chance to try out drugstore items without spending the money on a full size product first.

Fall boxes are still available. Sign up to receive yours here. In the meantime, check out what I got in this season's box. Note: items may vary by box.

One thing I don't enjoy receiving are these foil packets, but whatever. Included in this box are samples of the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer, the Nivea Extended Moisture Lotion, the Biore Self Heating One Minute Mask and the Crest 3D White Brilliance Whitening toothpaste and gel

Also included are some travel sized samples of the Aussie Mega Hairspray, the Caress Adore Forever Body Wash and the Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer.

Lastly, the box came with the Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara (which came in the Summer box, too.... wah wah!), ACT Advanced Care Mouthwash, Dove Advanced Care deodorant and probably the best item in the whole box -- the Schick Hydro Silk Disposable Razor

Overall, I enjoy the Walmart Beauty Boxes. For $5, you totally get what you pay for, and I like having sample sizes for when I travel. I'd recommend it if you like to try out drugstore items!

Have you signed up? What do you think of the Walmart Beauty Box? Let me know!

Colourpop Haul #2!

Earlier this year I posted a Colourpop haul, and if you read that post, you probably aren't surprised that another order was made and lo and behold - it's time for haul #2! Colourpop products are super reasonably priced (drugstore pricing) and this brand is ALL the rage lately. You can only buy Colourpop online, and I'd highly recommend you place an order! They have lippies, eyeshadows, highlighters, and more in every color you can imagine and it won't break the bank!

Here's what I just recently purchased...

The first product I got is one of Colourpop's Ultra Matte Lip colors in the shade Trap ($6). Trap is described as "greige", or a gray beige color. Greige is freakin' everywhere this fall. I've been intrigued since I saw this color, and it is quite a sight to behold. I'm still figuring out how to best wear it, as I feel like it kind of makes me looks sick?? It might be better on tanner skin than pale skin like mine - but I'm going to keep experimenting with it.

As the name suggests, this color is extremely matte and dries to a velvet look on the lips. It will dry your lips out like no other, but you can easily wear a gloss over it if you need a boost of moisture.

Clueless is another Ultra Matte Lip color, described as a dusty mauve pink. This is a really beautiful neutral shade, perfect for work or a night out. Again, it'll dry your lips out, but top it with a gloss and you're good to go!

The last lip product I got is a Lippie Stix in the shade Lumiere ($5), a custom color created by YouTuber KathleenLights. Lumiere is my favorite shade of the three, more of a dusty mauve color that is so wearable for any occasion. I absolutely love this color! Lippie Stix are creamy, like a normal lipstick. They wear really well and won't dry your lips out.

Lastly, I got an eye shadow in the shade Mixed Tape ($5). Mixed Tape is a grey-ish taupe color with a pearl finish. If you have never tried ColourPop's eyeshadows, you totally should. They have the most interesting texture, very soft and kind of creamy (but not creamy?) -- it's so hard to explain! They do tend to crease on me, but I love the shades enough that I don't care.

Have you tried anything from Colourpop? What should I buy next? Let me know!

September Ipsy Glam Bag 2015

It's Ipsy time again! This month's bag has some goodies, and it actually has a product I've wanted to try (the Acure scrub) so I'm excited to get a sample before purchasing the full size.

If you're unfamiliar with Ipsy, it's a beauty subscription service that costs $10 per month and you get a nice reusable travel bag filled with beauty samples and full sized products. It's my favorite beauty subscription service and I recommend it to anyone who likes to try out new makeup and skincare products. To find out more or to sign up, click here

Here's what came in this month's bag:

  • NYX + Ipsy Eye Shadow Trio - This trio of shadows is a collaboration between NYX and Ipsy. The colors are perfect for fall. See swatches below.
  • Eyelyn Iona Cosmetics Cream Blush in Ash - First of all, I have to gripe about the horrible sample packaging. I can't get a brush in this little tub to save my life, and I can fit maybe one finger in. Not ideal! Anyway - the formula is organic, paraben-free and cruelty-free. $1 from every product sold is donated to various women's organizations. I can get behind that!
  • Acure Brightening Facial Scrub - I'm really excited to get something from this brand in my Ipsy bag! This formula has organic chlorella and argan stem cells to repair the skin. It's vegan, gluten and cruelty free, as well as paraben, sulfate, silicone, phthalate and synthetic fragrance free.
  • J. Cat Beauty #MOTD Waterproof Slide on Pencil in Bronze - This stuff is really waterproof, and it's a beautiful bronze color that's totally wearable any day of the week.
  • Naobay Oxygenating Moisturizing Cream - This brand is totally new to me. This moisturizer is made up of plant extracts and organic oils like sweet almond oil and rosehip oil.

Proganix Quench Hair Care | Coconut H20 + (Electrolytes)

Shower time has gotten far more fragrantly appealing lately, all thanks to Proganix and the goodies they recently sent me. My shower has been taken over by the deliciously scented Coconut H20 + (Electrolytes) Quench line, and my hair and nose couldn't be more thankful.

I've been putting the Moisturizing + Nourish shampoo and conditioner, as well as the Moisture Balm and the Leave In Moisture spray to the test over the last couple weeks. This line is formulated with three key ingredients that are moisturizing, rehydrating powerhouses: coconut water, coconut oil and electrolytes. These ingredients also provide nutrients for the hair like nourishing amino acids, Vitamin E, antioxidants and other vitamins and enzymes.

The shampoo and conditioner combo is really lovely. As I mentioned, it smells amazing and I'm not one to be cuckoo for coconut. It's coconutty and slightly floral and fresh - it's a very refreshing scent. Aside from the smell, this combo works great as well. After washing my hair, it felt very soft and had a natural shine to it, which isn't always there. I have to say, I was impressed!

There are two other products in the line - the Moisture Balm and the Leave-in Moisture spray. Both of these products do essentially the same thing, and they can be used together or separately. After washing my hair, I misted my hair with the Leave-in Moisture spray to help detangle my hair, and after brushing my hair, I took a small, dime-sized amount of the Moisture Balm and ran it through my hair from my ears on down to the ends.

I was worried that the combination of the leave-in spray and the balm together would weigh my hair down or make it greasy, but I worried for nothing. It made my hair soft, touchable and shiny and not an ounce of greasy or heavy. I loved what these products did to my hair!

Proganix is available at a number of stores, with a variety of other scents and formulas to target your specific needs. Check out Target, Walgreens, CVS, Ulta and Rite Aid to purchase. Target sells the shampoo and conditioner for around $9.99 each, and the leave-in spray for around $11.99. If you're in the market for a new hair line, I'd definitely recommend Proganix.
