Too Faced Melted dupes? LA Girl Lip Paints!

In a clear move to copycat the Too Faced Melted lipsticks, LA Girl recently came out with the Glazed Lip Paints. These are super-pigmented liquid glosses that are bold and bright and in your face. Instead of paying $21/lipstick like you will for the Too Faced Melted lipsticks, these will set you back just $15 for all 6 of these if you buy them on Amazon

I haven't actually tried any of the Too Faced lipsticks, so I don't know how these compare, but I can tell you that these are very liquidy, slightly tough to work with (because of how slippery and glossy they are) but the color pay off is amazing. They're formulated with Vitamin E and peppermint oil to nourish the lips while also providing a cooling effect. Here's what they look like... (sorry the lighting was all over the place while I was taking these - hence the differences in these photos!)

LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint in Hot Mess (orangey coral)
LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint in Pin-Up (deep blue-toned red)
LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint in Bombshell (deep pink)
LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint in Babydoll (light neon pink)
LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint in Blushing (deep mauve)
LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint in Coy (purple)
These lip glosses are really fun. If you're like me, and are constantly rubbing your lips together or fussing with your lipstick, you'll get a solid 2-3 hours of wear out of these. But since they are a gloss, they just don't have great lasting power, which really isn't a big deal to me.

My favorite shades of the bunch are Blushing and Pin-Up, and I will probably NEVER wear Coy or Babydoll (save for a Halloween costume) but I think these are a fun alternative if you're on a budget and can't or don't want to spend the money on the Too Faced alternative.

Have you tried these LA Girl lip paints? Let me know what you think!

Black Canyon Juniper Berry Body Lotion

Each and every morning, no matter the season, I use a body lotion after I'm out of the shower. It's just part of my routine. Not only do I hate having dry skin, but moisturizing is key to keeping skin looking young, so I am all about it. For the last week or so, I've been testing out  Black Canyon's Juniper Berry premium scented body lotion.

I typically like to keep things as natural as possible, and the ingredients in this lotion aren't the most horrific of all the lotions I've ever used, but this could be better.

The smell is really nice and fresh. Remember the old school Bath & Body Works Juniper Berry scent? This smells just like that, which is a blast from the past each time I use it. The scent lingers for just a short time after you apply, but it won't overpower your perfume or last with you all day long - which I like in a lotion.

It does take a bit of rubbing for this to finally sink in to your skin, it feels like it just sits there for a while, oddly. But it does eventually soak in and then leaves my skin feeling lightly moisturized and smelling nicely.

Overall, this isn't the best lotion I've ever used. I was happy to try it out for the sake of this review, but I don't have any need to repurchase it in the future. There are some really fun scents to try other than Juniper Berry, and they are relatively affordable or comparable price-wise to B&BW. If you're interested in trying these lotions, you can purchase them on Amazon for $15 here

What's your favorite body lotion? Let me know!

Empties #13

Just to recap from last time - I'm getting even better about not buying things and getting through my stash. This post is proof because I've got a LOT to show you. Of course, I still grab up the things I find on a killer deal, but I can't even tell you the last time I bought something like a new palette! Little victories.....

Here's all the stuff I've finally used up and purged out of my stash. The reason I've continued to do these posts (13 to be exact!) is that once I've finished up a product, I know certainly whether or not I would purchase something again, or whether I think it's worth recommending you try. So, here we go!

Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle Spray (would repurchase) - This detangler spray is a Birchbox exclusive, so you can only purchase it at Birchbox.com, but girl -- you need to. This stuff is probably my favorite detangler ever. It really works out those stubborn tangles while providing your hair with a whole mish mash of other benefits like heat protections, shine maximization, UV protection and more! Plus it's paraben and sulfate free.

Kiss My Face 4 in 1 Moisture Shave in Cool Mint (might repurchase) - This wasn't my favorite shave cream, but it wasn't bad by any means. I like that it's formulated without parabens, phthalates, SLS, artificial flavors and fragrances, plus it has vegan friendly ingredients, and is cruelty free. My legs are really sensitive and are prone to razor bumps when I shave, and this didn't prevent them from getting itchy after shaving, but I can't hate because of how good the ingredients are. I can handle a little itch until I'm out of the shower.

Paula's Choice Perfectly Natural Cleansing Gel (would repurchase) - If you're in to products created using healthy ingredients, Paula's Choice is where it's freaking at. This was a very basic cleanser, formulated with 99% natural ingredients, that left my skin feeling clean without stripping it of natural oils. This cleanser is recommended for babies it's so gentle, as well as people with super sensitive skin and those suffering from eczema. I have neither, but I love a gentle, natural cleanser. A+ product!

Herbal Essences Honey I'm Strong Rinse Off Treatment (would not repurchase) - I don't even think this hair treatment is sold anymore. I can see why, because it literally did nothing for my hair. This was about as strengthening and nourishing as a basic conditioner, it was nothing special as a once-a-week treatment.

Sonia Kashuk Red Promisia Hand Creme (would not repurchase) - Holy smelly, Batman! This stuff is seriously fragranced, smelling strongly of sandalwood, vanilla and jasmine. You could and should bypass perfume if you're going to use this as your daytime lotion or hand creme. I used this at night because it was way too strong and I prefer to use perfume in the daytime and I like my hand cremes to be minimally fragranced. It was hydrating but nothing special.

Aveda Hand Relief (would repurchase) - On the flip side, this hand creme is one of my holy grails. This version smells like lemon pie and is super duper hydrating. If you have really dry hands, this will be your savior. It makes your hands greasy for a tiny bit but then it soaks in and works moisturizing magic.

Calgon Royal Rendezvouz Velvet Body Cream (would repurchase) - I used this as a body lotion each morning, and it was nice but nothing special. It was lightly hydrating and it smelled fresh, kind of like a shampoo or hair spray. The scent did last for a long time, but I didn't find that it interfered with my perfume.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter Body Moisturizer (would repurchase) - I'm a huge fan of Soap & Glory products because literally everything they make smells amazing. The Righteous Butter has a nice feminine scent, characterized by bergamot, peach, vanilla and sandalwood. These body moisturizers are ridiculously hydrating without leaving your skin greasy. Side note, Soap & Glory has been pulled out of Sephora stores and is making a move to Walgreens - hip hip hooray! Hopefully this means prices go down just a smidge (even though they're not bad to begin with)!

Tom's Aluminum-Free Deodorant in Wild Lavender (would not repurchase) - I got this deodorant in a PinchMe box for free, and I'm glad I didn't purchase it. This stuff irritated my armpits at times, and didn't keep me dry (not that it promises to) or smelling particularly great on warm or stressful days. I've used way better natural deodorants before so I won't be buying this again.

Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Conditioner (would repurchase) - I purchased this travel size to take on trips with me, and I got quite a few uses. It made my hair feel soft and it smelled nice.

Martha Stewart Essentials Hair, Skin & Nails Vitamins (would repurchase) - I always take some form of biotin, primarily to keep my nails strong as I'm prone to brittle, easy-to-break nails, and I got this when it was on sale. These were nice, they did the job, and they're vegetarian capsules which is an added and necessary bonus for me!

Yes to Tomatoes Skin Clearing Facial Mask (would repurchase) - Unfortunately this wasn't used up entirely, but it dried out on me and started to smell funky. I liked this mask, it wasn't a godsend, but I do think it helped my skin continue to clear. It's affordable and worth a shot if you have problem skin.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent (would repurchase) - This used to be a holy grail powder for me, but lately I've come to like powders that are truly translucent, and I've found some others that I like more than this. However, if you're an oily skinned gal, this will keep you matte all day, and it costs under $5 which is awesome.

Finley Grace Wickless Soy Candle in Hot Apple Pie (would not repurchase) - All this is is a solid soy room freshener. It had literally no scent throw so in order to smell it your nose had to be pressed against the freshener. If I didn't have a million wax tarts to use, I'd cut this out and put it in my warmer, but I just don't care enough.

Lush Lip Scrub in Mint Julips (would repurchase) - Sometimes you just need to exfoliate your lips, especially before putting on a pigmented lipstick. I like these Lush ones because they're made with sugar and (even though it sounds disgusting) you can just lick them off after you scrub your lips. Mint Julips smelled and tasted minty and I enjoyed using it. I bought the Santa's Lip Scrub when this ran out, but I'd get this flavor again.

St. Tropez Prep & Maintain Tanning Mitt (would repurchase) - Nothing much to talk about here. I used this mitt to apply self-tanner and it worked nicely. It didn't rip and it didn't leave me streaky.

Shiseido Facial Cotton (would repurchase) - I've heard everyone and their mom rave about these cotton pads and I always wondered how anyone could be crazy about freaking cotton pads. I wasn't blown away immediately, but after going back to regular cotton rounds, I totally miss using these fancy ones. They're big enough to wipe all my makeup off with a cleanser and they don't fall apart. I'm a fan.

Swisspers Cotton Rounds (would repurchase) - These are the boring regular cotton rounds I was referring to. I got a big box of these at Costco and I have a many more tubes to use. I've gotten more in to micellar waters and I'd like a bigger cotton round to use instead of these small ones, so once these are gone, I'll probably only use these size to remove my eye makeup.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Makeup Removing Wipes (would repurchase) - Another Costco purchase, I got three packs of these on a whim. Turns out I really like using them. They have a nice pleasant scent, they're super moist and they get all my makeup off.

Up & Up Cosmetic Wedges (would repurchase) - Call me old school, but my favorite way to apply my foundation is still a good old cosmetic wedge. I always get latex-free because I hate the smell of latex. I'll continue to buy these.

Nature's Bees Natural & Organic Lip Balm (would repurchase) - I picked this up at the checkout counter of Big Lots one day and then proceeded to fall head over heels in love with this balm. It doesn't have much of a scent, but it's so hydrating and comfortable on the lips. Sadly, Big Lots closed in my town, but I went to one elsewhere and picked up 2 more of these because I can't find them online anywhere!

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation (would repurchase) - Holy grail foundation. My favorite ever. I did a full review on this here

Sally Hansen Dry & Go Drops (would repurchase) - I got these way back in an old Allure Beauty Box and used them, but they aren't really something I would have thought to buy for myself. It sort of felt like oil drops on my nails, and I think it did help speed up the dry time of my nail polish.

Laura Geller Spackle Primer in Bronze (would not repurchase) - I didn't finish this completely, but it's super old, from one of my first Birchboxes. I didn't notice this keeping my makeup put any longer than normal or doing anything wonderful for my skin.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in Ivory (would not repurchase) - I don't use this alone, I actually mix it in with my Covergirl 3-in-1 foundation when I want a more natural or dewy look. It's a bit too slippery on me to use this foundation alone. I did a full review of this here

StriVectin-SD Eye Concentrate for Wrinkles (would repurchase) - I have fine lines under my eyes and when I used this, I felt like they were less noticeable. I would totally get this again for upkeep and prevention.

Milani Eye Tech Extreme Liquid Eye Liner (would repurchase) - This was a nice eyeliner. It had a thin, long tip and was easy to apply.

Almay Liquid Eyeliner Pen (would not repurchase) - This finished too shiny for my taste, plus the tip was far too thick for my liking.

Maybelline Great Lash in Clear (would repurchase) - I use this to set my brows. It works like a charm and it's cheaper than many brow gels.

Sephora Transparent Brow Gel (would not repurchase) - Tried this out on a whim and hated it. It dried sticky and sometimes white. Absolutely awful stuff - I should have read the reviews before buying or I could have saved myself the $5!

OPI Avojuice in Mango (would not repurchase) - Avojuices used to be my favorite lotions, but I've come around and changed my mind. They do a good job at temporarily hydrating my hands, but they don't do any major work. I have other hand creams I prefer more now.

B&BW PocketBac in Strawberry Hibiscus (would repurchase) - There's always one of these in my empties. I use them before applying my makeup to kill any germs on my hands. This one smelled nice and the packaging is cute!

Visine Advanced Redness + Irritation Relief (would repurchase) - I'm so prone to having red eyes, and this stuff does the trick to knock redness out. I didn't quite finish these, but they expired and I don't mess around with eye products and expiration dates.

Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish (would repurchase) - I got this little sample from Sephora and really enjoyed it. It's quite scrubby and feels like sand. It made my skin feel soft and exfoliated. I'm sure a full size is quite pricey, but if I saw it for cheap, I'd consider buying it.

Garnier Fructis Marvelous Oil (would repurchase) - I used this sample as an overnight treatment for my hair, prior to a hair wash day. It smelled really nice and left my hair feeling smooth.

Cosmedicine Primary Care Multi-Tasking Moisturizer (would repurchase) - This was a fragrance-free, no-nonsense moisturizer with SPF 20. It was lightweight and worked nicely under makeup.

Keomi Skincare Luscious Lavender Soap (would repurchase) - I love these Keomi soaps and the lavender scent smelled really good. It lathered nicely and made my skin feel clean but not stripped. I did a whole review of these soaps here

100% Pure Green Apple Nourishing Body Cream (would repurchase) - I used this sample as a hand cream and it worked well. It wasn't greasy, and it smelled just like you'd expect green apples to. I love that this lotion is 100% natural and vegan.

Vanedo Beauty Friends Pearl Sheet Mask (would repurchase) - For my birthday, my husband got me a set of various Vanedo sheet masks. The pearl mask left my face soft but I didn't notice any major improvements. I just enjoy a good sheet mask for relaxation and pampering.

Up & Up Luminous White Whitening Wraps (would repurchase) - Stay tuned, I'm going to do a full review on these soon so I don't want to give anything away. :)

Johnson & Johnson Soft Woven Mint Floss (would repurchase) - I love flossing my teeth, and the woven floss is my absolute favorite. It gets every speck of junk out of my teeth and it doesn't hurt.

GUM Butlerweave Mint Waxed Floss (would not repurchase) - I get these little floss samples from the dentist and I keep them in my desk at work for use whenever I need it. It's fine, but again, I prefer the woven kind.

Jason Powersmile Antiplaque & Whitening toothpaste in Powerful Peppermint (would repurchase) - Jason toothpastes are some of my favorite natural toothpastes. They're fluoride-free (google why fluoride is bad for you if you're curious why I prefer toothpastes without it) but they do a really nice job of cleaning my teeth. This flavor was nice and fresh.

B&BW Cinnamon Sugared Doughnut candle (would repurchase) - This candle smells divine. My best friend went and bought herself a bunch of these candles after smelling it burning in my house. That's how epic this smell is. You can still buy this in large and small sizes, but I do believe the mason jar size isn't available right now.

Yankee Candle Pink Blush Candle (would not repurchase) - This wasn't a bad scent, but it just isn't something I need again. It's a floral scent with a hint of powder.

B&BW Flowering Dogwood Candle (would repurchase) - This is ages old and I don't think B&BW even carries this scent anymore. This smells just like Flowerbomb perfume. It's heavenly.

Uff da! That's it. Have you tried any of these products? Let me know!

MEMEBOX + Nylon Sweet 16 Eye & Face Palette

Nylon is celebrating it's sweet 16th birthday with a special gift for Memeboxers - the #ItGirlPalette, a mix of bold colors for the eyes and face. If you're not up on the subscription box phenomenon, or have never heard of Memebox, you are in for a fun treat! Memebox offers a variety of Korean cosmetics in specially curated boxes that you can purchase on a need-t0-have basis instead of monthly. If you like to try new things, you've go to give Memebox a shot!

Full disclosure, Memebox sends me products now and then for the sake of review, but since long before they ever sent me anything, I've been a big fan. Korean cosmetics are where it's at. This Nylon palette is no exception. I love how Memebox describes it.... "This palette is a must-have for all gals that are edgy, trend-setting, and f***ing awesome."

The colors in this palette are shimmering and autumnal, and I think just about anyone could make a look they feel comfortable with (natural or bold) using the #ItGirlPalette. The two larger shades on each side are for the face, a highlighter named "The Moment" and a hot hot hot mega-pigmented pink blush called "Sweet 16".

All the shadows are named after some of Nylon's most iconic cover models. The top row of eyeshadows, L to R are named Lilo (a matte white), Mary-Kate (shimmering olive green), and Mischa (a shimmering rust red). The bottom three, L to R are Lana (bronze shimmer), Paris (rosy gold shimmer), and Nicole (dark brown with blue shimmer). All of these shadows are easy to work with and really soft. I don't think they're quite as great as the colors in the SoothingSista palette, but they aren't bad in the least.

Above are swatches of each shade, not over any sort of primer, which would make them pop even more. From L to R: The Moment, Lilo, Mary-Kate, Mischa, Lana, Paris, Nicole, Sweet 16.

Overall, this is a really fun palette. I think this is an especially great palette for girls with green eyes as all of these colors are going to make green eyes pop! This palette can be purchased at Memebox.com for $29. Even if you're not going to purchase, click the link and see some fun ways to rock bold colors like these!

Have you ever purchased from Memebox? Let me know what your favorite products are!

April Ipsy Glam Bag

Ipsy time is here, and it came with some fun new products and one of the cutest Ipsy bags I've received yet! I'll definitely be hanging on to this one for travel in the future. Here's what came in April's glam bag...

  • JulieG Nail Polish in Damsel - This is a beautiful hot pink cream nail polish. JulieG is a youtube beauty "guru" who made her own nail line, and it's not sold anywhere near me, so I'm excited to finally try one of her polishes. I've heard good things! I have about a million nail polishes in this color, so I wish I would have received something more unique, but what can ya do?
  • Olive Natural Beauty Lip Balm in Oats & Honey - Upon first glance, I was really excited to receive this. Then I opened it, and it smells disgusting and it's extremely hard to smooth on the lips. I don't know if I received a dud, but this is unusable and I'll be chucking it straight in the trash.
  • KCO Colors by Beauty Brands lipstick in Natural Born Beauty - This is a gorgeous brick red. It has that old school lipstick smell, but it seems like a nice formula. I've never heard of KCO Colors before. Unfortunately my tube came broken (see below) but it'll still work.
  • theBalm Cosmetics Nude Dude Eyeshadow Single in Flirty - I love love love love this color (kind of a pinky brown) and the texture which is super buttery and blendable. I'm over the moon to get this in my glam bag!
  • MicaBeauty Eye Primer - The good news? This primer fits my skin color beautifully and it's a full-size product (full-size retails for $44.95 - great deal!) The bad news? My eyeshadow creased in a matter of 4 hours. Bad deal! NOT a fan.

If you like receiving beauty samples, and some full size products, at your doorstep each month, you've got to sign up for Ipsy! It costs just $10 per month, and you can gain points by reveiwing your products, which you can then redeem for full size products. Click here to sign up today. (referral link)

p.s. Sorry for the unexplained hiatus this week! I was off  in San Francisco for work and it was beautiful and I was bad and didn't plan ahead. Here's a pretty picture from the bike trip I took across the Golden Gate Bridge as my apology. :)

Beejuvenate | Review + GIVEAWAY!

Ya'll know I love me some all natural beauty goodies. So obviously, it was a total no brainer to try the Beejuvenate All Natural Beeswax Skin Balm when the opportunity presented itself. This balm is formulated with beeswax as it's main ingredient, and it's alcohol-free.

Beejuvenate is created with 12 natural ingredients:  Safflower Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Beeswax, Cocoa Butter, Coconut Oil, Kukui Seed Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, Organic Refined Hemp Seed Oil, Avocado Oil, Shea Butter, and Emu Oil.

You can use this product in a number of ways. Essentially, what it does is the beeswax formula creates a protective barrier over the skin when you need it. It heals dry skin, soothes cracked heels, heals eczema, heals sun burns and chafed skin, works as a post-tattoo moisturizer and much more.

I used this on my dry knuckles, and I even used it on my dogs dry paws during the winter. In fact, I'll probably keep this as a product solely for Winnie in the winter because it's natural and it worked nicely on her paws. The texture is quite hard, but it warms up when you rub it on your finger and it easily melts in to the skin.

Beejuvenate comes in a variety of scents. I picked vanilla creme, a buttery vanilla scent that smells a little bit fake, but it's not bad.

Beejuvenate can be purchased at beejuvenate.com for $8.50 - $30, depending on the size.

One lucky winner will receive a tub of beejuvenate in the scent of their choice! Enter below, and leave a comment letting me know which scent you'd like if you win! This giveaway is open to US residents only. Sorry!

3 years.

Wow. Today marks 3 years since the creation of Glazed Over. I don't want to get too mushy and gushy or drawn out about it, but I just want to take a second and thank you sincerely for reading. I consider makeup and beauty an art form and I truly enjoy sharing my passion with you each week on this blog. Glazed Over has come a long way in 3 years - there's still so much more I'd like to do and so much more I want to share with you and I can only hope that in the next year, things will be even BETTER!

So thank you! And I hope you'll continue to join me here each Monday, Wednesday and Friday! I'm going to go find a cupcake to celebrate now.... ;)

Rituals HAUL!

If you haven't heard of Rituals, you aren't the only one. Rituals is a brand that seems to have stayed under the radar, but lately I've seen them popping up everywhere. After a browse on the Rituals US website and reading through the selection of different scents they offer, I made an impulse order and I am so ridiculously happy with everything I purchased.

First off, isn't the packaging gorgeous?! I love the attention to detail and how luxurious it all looks! I'm so guilty of judging a book by it's cover, but hey - it paid off.

You're probably thinking - WTF, 3 body butters? Girl, you crazy! But if you saw my last empties post you know that I GO THROUGH IT! I swear! And besides, Rituals had a deal that if you spent over $30 (I think?), you got a free body butter. All of these retail for $25 each, but I got them on sale for $20 a piece (and one free).

The first body butter I got is Honey Touch: Indian Rose & Himalaya Honey. It has a faint rose scent and is definitely sugary sweet. It's a fresh scent and smells like something you'd buy at a spa. Magic Touch: Cherry Blossom & Rice Milk is very lightly scented, and won't interfere with your perfume. It has that typical "rice milk" scent, if you know what I mean. Touch of Light: Patchouli & Cardamom was initially what sparked my interest in the brand. Patchouli and cardamom are two scents I love, and this smells amazing. It's not too heavy on either of the scents, so if you love fragrances like this pick it up NOW because this is a limited edition product!

Shower oils are one of my favorite ways to hydrate my skin when I'm running late or am too lazy to use a lotion post-shower. And since Shanti Shower: Indian Rose & Sweet Almond Oil combines two more of my favorite things (almond oil & rose) this was a no-brainer to add in to my cart. This is probably my least favorite scent of the 4 products I purchased, but it's not bad in any way! It's very very sweet and I'm interested to see how long that scent lingers after use.

Have you ever tried anything from Rituals? If you have, let me know what you loved!

Hair Symphony Brushes

Despite loving makeup and beauty products, hair styling is one thing I don't enjoy nearly as much. And in turn, I don't often do much with my hair. Some days I may curl it, or throw some bobby pins in it to create a simple style, but most days I don't even brush it. On the days that I wash it though, I do like to use a brush that gets the job done, tangles out, and sweeps through every strand.

Hair Symphony sent me two of their brushes to try: the salon-quality styling brush (left) and the detangling brush (right). I have to say, I wasn't a fan of the styling brush, as it feels really cheap and the bristles were all wonky and caved in. However, I did really love the detangling brush. Dare I say, I think I love it even more than my tangle teezer. The extra long base of the detangling brush makes it easier to hold than the tangle teezer, and the bristles do a great job of gripping each strand of hair. Don't get me wrong, the tangle teezer is a great product, but this detangling brush is pretty darn awesome!

This brush duo can be purchased on Amazon for $16.45.

Fall Bath & Body Works Haul!!

I think it's safe to say fall is here in Minnesota, and I am in 7th heaven - it's my absolute favorite time of year! We were blessed with the most perfect weather this past weekend, 70s, sunny and a tinge of autumn in the air. All this fall excitement had me out the door and heading to Bath & Body Works to get some of their scents of the season (especially because their fall scents are always gone WAY too early... anyone else notice that?) Here's what I picked up...

Brown Sugar & Carrots Hand Soap - "A gourmet treat of glazed carrots warmly scented with vanilla and cinnamon." The design on the bottle is absolutely adorable, and this smells heavenly!

Pumpkin Cupcake Hand Soap - "Satisfy your sweet tooth with the scent of baked pumpkin, whipped vanilla frosting and a hint of honey." The description couldn't be more spot on - this smells just as you'd expect.

A Walk in the Woods Hand Soap - "A leisurely stroll through golden leaves, red rosewood and cool bergamot." This has more of a cologne-like scent that is just enough, not overpowering.

Cozy Vanilla Cream Hand Soap - "Whipped frosting and sweet cream warmed with vanilla bean create a cozy treat." If you love vanilla, this is for you.

Crisp Morning Air Hand Soap - "Breathe in the invigorating scent of mountain pine, fresh juniper and pear." This soap has a more earthy, autumnal scent that is fresh and invigorating.

I was NOT intending to come home with body products buuuuuttttt... you know how it is!

Plum Moscato & Almond Harvest Shower Gel - This shower gel has a warm fruit scent, with hints of bergamot and sandalwood. I definitely didn't need this, but it was buy 2 get one free, so it happened.

Pumpkin Latte & Marshmallow Comfort Shower Gel - Holy crap, this smells AMAZING. I took one whiff and absolutely had to have it. I love marshmallow scents and this one spoke to me. The latte notes don't come through too strong for me, but you can definitely smell the pumpkin and marshmallow.

Pumpkin Latte & Marshmallow Triple Moisture Body Cream - I love B&BW Triple Moisture body creams because they are so moisturizing and leave my skin feeling silky and hydrated. This scent MIGHT get sickening as a body cream, but I sure hope not.

Have you tried any of the fall B&BW products? Let me know!

May Favorites!

Now that May is officially over and we've welcomed in June (a chilly and rainy June here in MN so far), I wanted to share with you the products I've been coming back to again and again over the last month. I love reading blogs about people's monthly favorites and watching these videos on Youtube, so I thought I'd give it a go myself! Let's get right to it...

e.l.f. Powder Brush

First up is a brush from Eyes Lips Face, which I think cost me all of $3. While this is technically a powder brush, I use it for blush and it works wonderfully! Of all the blush brushes I have (many more expensive than $3), this is one of my all time favorites. It's super soft but dense enough to really grip blush and apply it evenly and easily. I'd highly recommend it.

NYX Blush in Peach

I'm pretty sure I grabbed this blush every single day this month - you can tell by the dent I've put in to it. Being as fair skinned as I am, not all peachy blush tones complement my skin, but this is the perfect pinky peach to give my cheeks a healthy glow. I own a couple of these NYX blushes, and the formula is just perfect; they're not too powdery and they blend in nice with the skin. This is a great shade for spring.

NYX Butter Gloss in Merengue

As many of you know, I've got endless amounts of lip products. I could use a different one every day for days on end, so you know it's high praise when I say I grabbed this over and over again in May. These butter glosses from NYX are one of my favorite lip products ever; they're super soft, moisturizing, they smell amazing and they add the perfect amount of color to the lips. Merengue is a really pretty pink with a hint of purple. This tone works really great with my natural lip color, creating a soft pinkish nude lip. I'm going to do a review on these butter glosses, so keep an eye out for that coming soon!

Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer in Fair

I have tried every concealer you can think of in an attempt to find my holy grail go-to product, and my search has ended here with this concealer by Tarte. I've already purchased a back up because I don't want to be without it for even a day! I use this to conceal blemishes and hyper-pigmentation, and although I haven't used it as an under-eye concealer I can tell it would be really great for dark circles. This is a very hydrating (hence the maracuja oil in the name) natural concealer that has become a staple in my makeup bag this past month.

Wet n Wild Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner in Black

Another go-to long time favorite that has made it's way back in to my makeup bag is this liquid eyeliner by Wet n Wild. I have used this eyeliner for ages (although I did stray from it to try other things during the larger portion of last year) because the price can't be beat - it's no more than $4 max. I love this eyeliner because it is a very opaque black, and has a flexible brush applicator. It lasts all day, but be warned - it does run or smudge easily if you have watery eyes.

Maybelline Colorsensational High Shine Gloss in Punch of Pink

I hate to show you a limited edition product that I don't believe can be found anymore, but it really was a May favorite so I had to throw it in! Let me say this, it is too bad this is a limited edition product because this gloss rocks. It's a gorgeous true pink that looks really fun on the lips. Even better, it's moisturizing and long lasting. The only thing I don't like is the unnaturally long doefoot applicator, which is much longer than any other I've seen. It makes for an awkward application, but other than that, I give this an A+.

OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener

Believe it or not, I had not used this product ever until this past month. I'd heard good things about it all over the place, so when my Barielle ridge filler base coat started getting low, I picked this up and I'm so glad I did. I can really tell a difference in my nail strength when wearing this, which is awesome as I typically have weak nails that are prone to breaking. It's a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth every penny.
