Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigments Review & Swatches - Buff & Tuff and Barely Brazen

Maybelline has some fun brand new products in their Color Tattoo line for fall 2013! Say hello to Maybelline Pure Pigments, something different in the drugstore cosmetics selection. Pigments have come and gone in popularity throughout the years, but these are pretty unique considering the current selection. These come in 0.05 oz pots for $5.99 each - I found mine at Target.

There are a multitude of colors, ranging from bright, pigmented purples, pinks, yellows - you name it, to gorgeous neutrals. And if you're a fan of everyday neutrals (like myself), you're in luck. And the two I'm about to show you are must-haves for the neutral fanatic.

#60 Buff & Tuff

Buff & Tuff is a really pretty bronze-brown with golden glitter that pops. This is a decently pigmented shade, however I did experience lots of fallout from the glitter, even using a primer and applying the pigment with a wet brush. I did wear it over Tease from the Naked 2 palette, so I'm not sure if it was due to that, or if the glitter was bound to fall regardless. While  this applied really fresh and bold, it did show signs of wear and fading within 4-5 hours. With enough playing around, I think the perfect balance can be found to negate the fading and fallout.

#55 Barely Brazen

Barely Brazen is my favorite of these two colors. In the pot it appears to be more peachy gold than it does in the swatches. It shows up on the skin as an ultra-shimmery peachy nude pink that really catches the light. This color makes for an excellent sheer highlight, or inner corner pop on the eyes. You have to be careful about fallout with this color as well, however the entire color is shimmery unlike Buff & Tuff which has extra glitter that is prone to major fallout. Barely Brazen is a fast favorite.

The other neutral I didn't grab is called Breaking Bronze, and from the images I've seen, it's equally as gorgeous as these two colors. I'd give these two colors a thumbs up, and recommend giving them a try if you're in the market for some awesome eye colors.

What are your thoughts? Will you give them a try? Let me know in the comments.
