Teadora Body Polish | Rainforest At Dusk

Confession: I don't exfoliate as often as I probably should. Especially in the winter time when my skin is more dry, I really should exfoliate to get rid of dead skin and keep it healthy. Can anyone relate?! The only time I can really be bothered to use a scrub is prior to a spray tan, but regardless, I was intrigued by Teadora's Rainforest Body Polish. I chose the scent Rainforest At Dusk.

This scrub is formulated with antioxidants, vitamins, oleic and fatty acids and other powerful botanicals such as Argan Plant Stem Cells. Ingredients like acai seeds and amazonian clay are included as powerful exfoliating agents.

There are two scents to choose from in the Teadora Body Polish line, Rainforest At Dusk and Rainforest At Dawn. The scent I have, Rainforest at Dusk, has hints of Rose Absolute and Geranium as well as coconut and orange.

Unfortunately.... I don't sense any of those scents. It smells straight up awful, which I hate because I truly wanted to like this scrub! The bottle is cute, the branding is kitschy, but I can NOT get over the scent which reminds me of icky old lady perfume. The grit is good, the ingredients are good, but that smell..... woof. I hold out hope that Rainforest At Dawn smells infinitely better, because then I could get behind this scrub 100%!

I wish I could recommend it, but I just can't. Not every product is one to be raved about, and I strive to keep things real on Glazed Over. If you do see Rainforest At Dawn out and about, give it a whiff and let me know if it's good - because if it is, snatch it up - the scrub itself is worth it!

Scentbird | Monthly Perfume Subscription Service

I'm a self-professed perfume lover. You can get a blurry idea of just how many perfumes I have if you look above the Scentbird envelope. Yeah....

So naturally, Scentbird is maybe the most exciting subscription service I've stumbled upon as of late! Listen up, perfume-lovers, because you're going to LOVE this idea.

For $15 a month, you get a generous vial of perfume that plugs in to the sleek black holder you see above. You get the holder with your first month's delivery, and the next months you'll receive just the scent vial which you can swap in to the holder.

You get complete control over what perfume you receive, and you can build a log of perfumes that you want to receive each month on the Scentbird website. There are over 350 designer fragrances that are completely authentic. Each sample is enough to last you a month, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how large the vials are; they are 0.27 oz... for reference, a rollerball typically has about 0.34 oz. Not bad, eh?

For my first month, I chose Roses de Chloe by Chloe. I love the Chloe perfume, and I love roses so this was a complete no-brainer for me. This is a fresh scent, but not overly rosey if rose isn't your thing. Kind of a bummer for me, as I really do love rose, but I have to say I enjoy this scent a lot. It's classy and elegant, with notes of bergamot, musk and amber joined with rose. If you like scents such as Miss Dior Cherie, or Chance by Chanel, this will be up your alley.

I love that I got a chance to sample this before splurging on a full-size or rollerball. I completely expected to be head over heels for this perfume, and while I do really like it, I don't need to run out to buy it. Once I get through my original Chloe rollerballs, I just might get Roses de Chloe to have in my collection.

If you love perfume and don't like to spend tons of money on full-size bottles, or if you already have too many (like me!) and really can't justify the money on another perfume in your collection but still want to sample, Scentbird is for you! You can start your subscription at Scentbird.com!

Next up on my list to try? Hermes' Kelly Caleche, Givenchy Very Irresistable Electric Rose, and Jimmy Choo Stars just to name a few. What would you try?

Ever wondered what's in a swag bag from the Grammys??

Possibly unbeknownst to us normal folk, those of us who don't get to attend award shows and fancy celebrity events, all those people who go to the Grammys also go home with KILLER swag bags. And I got one....

How? You might ask... Well, I have the coolest boss on the planet and she had an awesome opportunity to go to the Grammy's this year, as well as the MusiCares event honoring Bob Dylan that same weekend. She knows of my love of all things beauty-related and she actually gifted me the swag bag she received (fear not - her husband also got one, so she still has all these goodies, too!) Seriously.. the most generous gift ever! I thought you might like to see! Here's what comes in the Grammy swag bags..

  • 2015 Grammy Nominees CD - I've always loved these compilations of the year's best tunes.
  • Starskin Coconut Bio-Cellulose Second Skin Facial Mask - I don't know anything about these masks... the brand is totally new to me.
  • Essie Nailpolishes - These two colors are Summit of Style and Rock at the Top, from the Luxeffects line. Gorgeous bronze and gold chunky glitters.

The bag came with OPI nail polishes galore! The top three in the Rollin' in Cashmere pack are all from the Gwen Stefani line which I absolutely love and adore. The Get the Gold Treatment pack includes a matte top coat and one of the Sheer Tint polishes, as well as some nail decals. The pink box includes four mini polishes that go with a fun set that I'll mention a bit later...

  • Redken All Soft Shampoo - I've never used a Redken shampoo, but this smells amazing and I can always use extra softeness in my tresses.
  • Garnier Deconstructed Texture Tease - This stuff has that typical Garnier smell. It works really well to "dirty" up your hair and give it some oomph! I love it!
  • Nick Chavez Starlet Shine Spray - I don't often use shine sprays, but I'll certainly give it a whirl. This is a new brand to me.
  • Hairart Matte Perfect Volumizing & Texturizing Spray - I'm loving texturizers more and more, as my hair is prone to being limp and lifeless. This will be fun to try. Again, another new brand to me.
  • Drybar Triple Sec 3-in-1 spray - This smells like cinnamon rolls!! And I love the classy packaging. This can be used as a texturizer after blowout and a dry shampoo for second day hair.

A whole slew of NYX goodies are in here, too. The NYX Suede Collection palette, which has a ton of awesome autumnal shades. There's also a mega-glittery Glam Aqua Luxe lipstick in the shade Divine - not really my thing, but I'm sure it'll find a good home. There's also The Curve liquid liner, something I've always wanted to try and quickly found out does not match how I like to hold my eyeliner wand. I love the thin tip of the pen though, so I'll make it work! There's also a full-sized Boscia BB Cream in bronze. It's entirely took dark for my face, but will work good when I get spray tans and I can mix it with my foundation to make it a tad darker. I love Boscia BB creams!

There's also some doggy items which Winnie will love by I Heart Pet Head. The first is the Dirty Talk Spearmint Lemongrass Deodorizing Shampoo which smells amazing. The second is the DeShed Me Fresh Watermelon Miracle Deshedding Rinse, which goodness knows we need. Winnie sheds like a beast!!

And also, my boss grabbed me this which I think is so hilariously awesome! It's meant for little girls, but hey.. I'm a kid at heart. Who can say no to a mini nail salon? Once I get a bookshelf for my beauty room, this is proudly being set out on display!

I don't know about you, but I'd go to the Grammy's solely for the sweet swag bag! But luckily, I got to watch from the comfort of my own couch and still get one! Let me know if you've tried any of these products! I love to hear from you all!

Julep - Dendrie

I've got a thing for grey nails. As much as I like to switch my nail color up on the regular, I think I'd be perfectly content if my nails were grey for life. Grey is chic and classy and it looks good on pretty much anyone. My nails were grey the day my husband proposed to me... maybe that has something to do with my love for the color. Whatever it is - it's a constant for me and Julep's Dendrie just made my list as one of the best grey polishes.

Julep's Dendrie is described as a "dove grey creme". It is, in fact, a true creme polish that is a very light grey - it almost leans lavender but I didn't really notice that until I took thse photos.  I got really good wear out of this polish. It lasted a solid 4-5 days, with minimal chipping and nail wear. This is true to most every Julep polish I've tried... they just make solid polishes. Period!

In these photos I'm wearing 2 coats of Dendrie, followed by Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat.

What's your favorite nail color to wear? Let me know!

Dior Crème de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm

My lips have been pretty elitist lately.... my nighttime routine has come to include the uber-popular, mega fancy, and creme de la creme of lip products. Yes, I'm talking Dior's Creme De Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm. This is one hell of a pricey lippie, ringing up at a whopping $28, but let me just tell you... it's worth every penny.

Last year for my birthday, my sweet husband gifted me Creme de Rose for my birthday. I'd been talking about it for months and couldn't justify the price when I just randomly perused the Sehora aisles, so it made the most perfect gift! I've taken my sweet time testing this product out and it has become a staple lip product every night before I go to bed.

As you might imagine, this lip balm has a soft rose scent. It's very light, not overpowering in the least - but I love all things rose so I wouldn't even mind if it was. It's pink in the pot, but it will just make your lips look glossy, if color isn't your thing. Creme de Rose is meant to hydrate, plump, soothe and protect with SPF 10.

Slathering this stuff  on feels decadent and healing, and quite fancy, too. It feels instantly nourishing, like it's apparent that it's doing good things for your lips the second the two meet. I've been putting a generous glob of this fancy lip balm on my lips each night before bed and when I wake up in the morning, my lips feel soft and supple. I can tell you this won't be my last pot of this good stuff.

Have you ever tried Creme de Rose? What do you think?

Yves Rocher HAUL!

Yves Rocher is a brand I've seen so much about online but have never tried until recently. I can't even tell you how many times I've almost made an order just because they have chocolate orange  soap... and I actually succumbed to that temptation this year.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the brand, Yves Rocher is a French company that offers really affordable beauty, skincare and bath products. It's not carried anywhere in stores near me, so I do all my ordering online at yvesrocherusa.com. They almost always have some sort of sale offer running, and they did when I placed my order. Everything you see here I got for a whopping total of $24. Here's what I picked up...

Velvety Toner ($14 for 6.7 oz) - This toner is made for dry to very dry skin - which I don't have but whatever. It's meant to eliminate impurities while softening and toning the skin.

Gentle Eye Makeup Remover for Sensitive Eyes ($5.50 for 4 oz) - This eye makeup remover is designed for those with sensitive eyes, especially those who wear contacts. This formula is paraben-free.

Cocoa & Orange Liquid Hand Soap - This is a holiday special, so it's not available for purchase anymore. This literally smells like you're washing your hands with a chocolate orange. So indulgent! I loved using this.

Hydrating Micellar Water for Face & Eyes ($15 for 6.7 oz) - Micellar waters are newer to the US, but have been around Europe for ages. This water cleanser is meant for those with mormal to combination skin, and is used to remove makeup without drying the skin.

3 Detoxifying Teas Micellar Cleansing Water ($16 for 6.7 oz) - This is just another version of a micellar water. I've been using this and it works really well at getting off every last bit of my makeup.

Have you tried any of these products? What's your favorite Yves Rocher item? Let me know!

MEMEBOX Special #52 WTF: Wonderful Treasure Finds

The MEMEBOX Special #52 WTF (Wonderful Treasure Finds) showed up on my doorstep recently and it's another good one, folks! MEMEBOX (pronounced Me-Me Box) is chock full of Korean beauty goodies, and is available for purchase on a need-to- have basis, so you don't have to sign up for a monthly box and receive a bunch of things you don't want. You get to decide when you want one and then pick a box that you like.

The Wonderful Treasure Finds (WTF - hilarious!!) box is comprised of new, under-the-radar items that are secret treasures! They're new and upcoming products, so get on the train and try these goodies early! Here's what's in the box:

  • Yadah Capsule Tok Soothing Gel ($11 for 6.7 oz) - This gel is a blend of aloe vera water, green tea extracts, and cactus flower extracts and is meant to moisturize, rejuvenate and soothe the skin. It can be used as a hair treatment if mixed with conditioner, or as a body scrub if mixed with sugar. What's cool about this product is that its use is up to you!
  • MUMUR Air Waterdrop Cooling Hand Cream Snow Blossom ($9 for 1.7 oz) - This is a very unique product. It's a lotion that supposed to create tiny dew drops of moisture on your skin as it's massaged in, "as if a snowflake has melted on your hands." I didn't see any dew drops forming on my skin, but this formula is a bit lighter-weight  and more watery than any lotion I've tried. I don't know how I feel about this product - I don't think I'd repurchase it.
  • Bath Charm Store Dead Sea Salt Pearl Natural Soap ($6 for 3.5 oz) - This is a totally natural soap made of dead sea salt, pearl powder, shea butter, hyaluronic acid, jojoba oil, lavender essential oil, and rose fragrance. It helps brighten and treat troubled skin. I've come around to bar soaps for the face, and I like the pretty shape of this one.

  • Skindeco Comedo AC Power Serum ($36 for 1.7 oz) - Oddly enough, this serum is formulated with garlic extract (don't worry, doesn't smell like it!), and ginger extract. It's made to soften the skin and unclog pores to improve the appearance of the complexion. I liked using this and I'm sure I'll end up using the whole bottle!
  • dearberry Play Choux in Peach Choux ($14 for 1 oz) - This is a pearlescent face primer that aims to perfect the skin before applying makeup. Peach Choux adds a healthy glow to the face. I've been adding this in to my foundation and it adds a very subtle glow that I love! This is my most favorite product in the box this month. See how glowy it is:

  • Elinette BMS Cure Cream ($65 for 1.7 oz) - This cream stimulates skin turnover, and aims to soften, smooth, moisturize and firm the skin without alcohol or parabens. This is meant to be used both morning and night. I liked using this. I didn't notice any major change in my skin, but maybe after continued use I will see an improvement.

  • Tonymoly Mr. Smile Patch ($2) - These patches are to be used on smile lines to smooth and firm the skin. They're formulated with "black secret complex", or blueberry, black bean, black sesame seed, and mulberry extracts. These are just plain fun to use!

January Favorites

I used a lot of new (to me) products in January. Not all of them are worthy of chatting about, but some of them are worth more than just chatting about -  they're worthy of a favorites post. Here's what I loved in January.

  • eva nyc Freshen Up Dry Shampoo - This stuff smells amazing and it does a really good job of soaking up excess oil. This allows me to go 2 days between washes. I can't even stress how good this stuff smells.
  • Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bachelorette - This lipstick is seriously pigmented and has crazy staying power. It goes on like a gloss and then dries to a beautiful matte pinkish-red shade. I wore it ALL DAY and I reapplied only once. I tend to lick my lips a lot when I wear these long-lasting lipsticks, so my lips did get a bit dry from it, but it was totally worth it.
  • Josie Maran Argan Infinity Intensive Creamy Oil - This is intended for use on dry patches of the face, but I have been using it mixed in with my hand lotion at night for extra hydration. A little bit goes a long way I wake up with soft hands thanks to this extra little boost.
  • Mario Badescu Drying Lotion - To get rid of zits faster, this drying lotion is where it's at. You take just a dab of it and keep it on any problem area overnight and your spots will dry up a bit quicker than normal.
  • CO Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine in Ultra - This clear gloss is super minty and tingly, and tastes good - it actually claims to freshen breath. It soothes sore, chapped lips and I will forever keep some version of this in my stash.

What did you love in the month of January? Let me know!
